Gijón International Show Jumping Competition

Today saw the start of the International Show Jumping Competition in Gijón, which will be taking place until 2nd September and is sponsored by El Gaitero.   

The 2015 edition is set to be one of the biggest in recent years with a total of 75 riders and 174 horses from 10 countries taking part. El Gaitero will be presenting the trophy at one of the competition’s major events for the Winning Rider in Trial 4, which will be taking place tomorrow, Thursday 29th August.

This weekend the Castiello Royal Golf Club in Gijón is hosting the 18th edition of ‘El Gaitero’ Golf Tournament. The event is a 2 day eclectic stableford tournament. Around 80 golfers, who will be competing in four categories according to their handicap, will be competing in the event.  

The winners in each category will receive a silver piper and the runners-up an apple-shaped trophy. And to keep their strength up throughout the competition, all entrants will be able to enjoy a dish of El Gaitero tripe at the 9th hole.
